World Book Day
The children had a wonderful day sharing the enjoyment of reading. It was a very busy day with lots of activities going on in each classroom and around the school. God's word was spoken at the heart of the school as each child read a small section of Mark's gospel. We also celebrated the diverse range of books we have from different cultures around the world.

Some Unusual reading
As part of World Book Day the children (and teachers) got busy taking photos of themselves reading in some rather unusual places. Here are just a few examples:

The Early Years Visit Kedleston Fish Bar
As the Early Years have currently got a Fish and Chip shop in their role-play area we thought it was important to go and see how a real chip shop runs. Sampling the food was of course necessary too!

First we checked the menu...

...then we looked at the range of foods that were being cooked.

The lady told us all about how they made the chips and cooked the fish before taking out order.
We had to wait patiently as 19 potions of fish and chips takes a little bit of time to cook!

Snow!
We worked as a team to build a snowman:
We rolled the snow to make big snow balls...
pressed the snow together...
and added a few finishing touches!
